About Polished Helpers
Polished Helpers trains and places South African nannies and housekeepers the proper way — through structured in-house training, personal assessment and ongoing human support, not simply an online listings page.
Every candidate completes structured in-house training before being introduced to a family.
South African nannies and housekeepers are personally assessed by the Polished Helpers team.
Our relationship continues after placement with support for families and household helpers.
Our story
Polished Helpers was created to restore the traditional household placement model: train candidates properly before introducing them to a family.
A personal challenge revealed the need for a better household placement process.
Polished Helpers began after its founder, a busy businesswoman balancing her studies while raising two toddlers under the age of two, struggled to find reliable and well-trained domestic help through informal networks and unverified online listings.
Too many agencies simply screen candidates and send them to a household, without a clear practical training standard behind the placement. Polished Helpers was built to restore the traditional model of domestic placement, where candidates are practically trained in-house before they are introduced to a family.
Nannies complete a two-day programme, while housekeepers complete a three-day programme covering cooking, baking and hospitality-level housekeeping. The agency places South African candidates exclusively and works with families across the country’s major cities to support fair, suitable and well-managed placements.
Every placement begins with training, personal assessment and a clear understanding of the household role that needs to be filled.
Our approach
Our approach is built around preparation, local employment and an ongoing relationship. Candidates are trained before placement, every match is reviewed by a real person, and support continues after the introduction.
Every candidate completes structured practical training with Polished Helpers before placement, rather than receiving training only after they have already started working in a family’s home.
Polished Helpers places South African candidates exclusively, supporting local employment while ensuring that identification and relevant documentation are verified for every household role.
Our involvement does not end once a candidate is introduced. Polished Helpers remains a real point of contact for both families and household helpers before, during and after the placement process.
Polished Helpers combines structured training with personal candidate assessment and ongoing support to create a clearer, more responsible placement experience for both households and helpers.
Our values
Polished Helpers is built around practical preparation, fair treatment and personal service. These values shape how we train candidates, support families and manage every household placement.
No candidate is placed without completing the relevant in-house training programme. Practical preparation is the foundation of the traditional agency model used by Polished Helpers.
Polished Helpers advocates for fair pay and suitable working conditions for household helpers while helping families find reliable, properly matched household support.
A real person reviews every candidate match and remains available for questions before and after placement. Families and helpers are supported by people, not automated systems.
Clear pricing, honest placement timelines and straightforward communication help families understand what to expect before the process begins, without hidden fees or unclear steps.
Every household placement is managed with the interests of both the family and the helper in mind, supported by practical training and direct human involvement throughout the process.
